The Parkland Baseball team used a combination of solid pitching and timely hitting Friday as they took both games of a doubleheader from visiting Lincoln Land. PC won the opener 9-1 before taking the night cap 5-1. The wins move Parkland to (11-6 2-0) while the Loggers drop to (7-9 0-2). The two teams will be off Saturday and will wrap up their four game set with a pair of games in Springfield starting at 1:00 on Sunday.
Game 1:
Jarret Olson and
Garrett Acton combined to allow just one run on one hit while striking out 11. Olson survived a lack of control early, as he stranded three baserunners in the opening inning. Parkland would give him all the run support he would need in the 2

Trevor Minder and
Damian Pierce started the inning with singles and Minder came home on a
Max Downs double.
Tyler Paulsen followed with a run scoring single and
Connor Aube drove home a run as he reached on a fielders choice. Aube promptly stole 2
nd and 3
rd and he scored on a
Trystin Raikes single. PC added an unearned run in the 3
rd, scored on a wild pitch in the 4
th, and scored three more times in the 6
th as Logger pitchers issued three walks and hit two batters in the inning. Olson worked the first 6 innings allowing one run on no hits, he struck out nine but walked six before giving way to Acton in the 7
th. Acton gave up a base hit but struck out a pair to wrap up the win. Raikes and Pierce each had two hits and Downs two RBI to pace the offense.

Tyler Paulsen's solo home run in the 4
