No. 20 Cobras Cruise Past DACC to Advance in Region 24 Tournament

Parkland dominates on both sides of the ball in 13-1 postseason victory

CHAMPAIGN, Ill.—May 9, 2026—The No. 20 Parkland College baseball team continued its strong postseason run on Saturday, defeating Danville Area Community College, 13-1, in the second round of the NJCAA Region 24 Championship Tournament.

The Cobras controlled the game from start to finish, using an explosive offensive performance and dominant pitching to secure the eight-inning run-rule victory.

Parkland's lineup stayed hot after Friday's pair of tournament wins, consistently applying pressure at the plate and capitalizing on scoring opportunities throughout the afternoon. The Cobras piled up 13 runs while continuing their recent stretch of high-powered offensive production.

Defensively, Parkland limited DACC to just one run and kept the Jaguars from building momentum at any point in the contest. The Cobras' pitching staff delivered another efficient postseason outing while the defense backed them up behind the mound.

With the win, Parkland advances further into the NJCAA Region 24 Championship Tournament carrying momentum after outscoring opponents 32-11 through the opening rounds of postseason play.
