The Parkland Baseball team dropped a 3-2 decision to host Vincennes University on the opening day of the Blazer Invitational. PC (8-4) will take on Harper College and Schoolcraft on Saturday with the top two teams meeting for the title on Sunday.

VU grabbed a 2-0 lead in the 3rd as they used a single, walk, and error to score a pair of runs. They would add a single run in the 5th as they scored a single tally off a passed ball. Down 3-0 headed to their last at-bat, PC would rally but fall just short.

Max Downs singled to start the inning and Connor Aube reached on a fielders choice. Trevor Minder followed with a single to left and Aube raced home when the Blazer left fielder misplayed the ball. Minder would later score on a wild pitch but could not get another run home.
