The Cobras picked up a split on Sunday, dropping game one 6-4 before taking the finale 8-2. The split allows the Cobras to take the series 3-1 and moves them to (37-12-1 22-6) while DACC stands (20-22 10-18). PC will enter the final week of the season a game behind league leading Heartland with four M-WAC games remaining. PC will host Vincennes in a single game starting at 2:00 on Monday and bring Kankakee to town on Wednesday for a 3:30 contest. The Cobras wrap up the regular season with a four game series against Lewis and Clark. PC will host Lewis and Clark on Friday at 2 before traveling to Godfrey on Saturday.
Game 1:
A five run 3rd inning spelled disaster for the Cobras as DACC held on for a 6-4 win. PC grabbed the early lead as
Nick Wisz and
Alex Steinbach singled and
Logan Pillars followed with a sacrifice fly. In the 3rd, PC would score again as
Connor Aube singled, moved to second on a balk, stole third, and scored on an RBI ground out by
Tyler Paulsen. DACC scored five times in the bottom of the inning as they put together six hits, four singles and two doubles, to grab a 5-2 lead. The Cobras got one run back in the 4th as Pillars singled and Aube drove him home with a base hit. PC would cut the lead to one at 5-4 as Christian Sanchez's ground ball to second scored
Tyler Paulsen who had doubled. The Jaguars added an insurance run in the 6th and PC could not rally in their final at bat. Aube, Paulsen, and Wisz each had two hits in the loss.
Luke Smith took the defeat as he struggled allowing five runs on eight hits in just 3 innings of work.

Game 2:
PC salvaged the split riding the strong pitching performances of
Christian Sidoti and
Sean Ferguson while scoring seven runs over the final three innings. The two teams were locked in a tight pitcher's duel as the Cobras led just 1-0 after four innings. The lone Cobra run came on a
Connor Aube single scoring
Brendan Joyce who had also singled.
Trystin Raikes would extend the lead to 3-0 in the 5th as his two-run shot, his 11th of the season, scored Aube who had walked. After DACC got those two runs back in the bottom of the inning, PC would answer back with a three run 6th. Joyce led things off with a single and he came home on Aube's double. Raikes was intentionally walked but Paulsen foiled the strategy as he came up with a big two-run double to push the lead to 6-2. The Cobras would score two more times in their final at bat as Steinbach walked and
Bobby Barnard was hit by a pitch. Joyce would drive home one run via a squeeze bunt and Barnard would race home on a wild pitch. Joyce, Aube, and Raikes each collected two hits to make a winner out of starter
Christian Sidoti. Sidoti improved to (4-0) as he threw five strong innings allowing two runs, both unearned, while allowing just one hit while striking out five.Â
Sean Ferguson worked a scoreless final two innings striking out three to preserve the win.
