CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Seven of Parkland College's eight athletic teams have been recognized by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) for their academic success during the 2018-19 academic year. Announced on Monday afternoon, Parkland men's and women's soccer, volleyball, women's basketball, men's golf, softball and baseball programs received the annual accolade.
Joining a total of 738 NJCAA programs to earn the award, teams were required to finish the academic season with a combined team GPA of 3.0 or higher. Parkland's softball team led the way with a 3.59 grade point average, while volleyball (3.55) and women's basketball (3.41) were also well above the 3.0 requirement.
