Anthony Silkwood Commits to Louisville

Former U.S. Marine will now compete in ACC

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Parkland College Athletics and Cobras Baseball are proud to announce that Anthony Silkwood has committed to continue his athletic and academic careers with the University of Louisville Cardinals.

Silkwood, from East Alton, Ill., started 2 games in a shortened sophomore season, striking out 7 batters in 6 innings pitched. This came on the heels of recovery from an August 2018 Tommy John surgery and a freshman campaign with John Wood CC in the spring of that year.

The 2011 Marquette Catholic High School grad spent five years as a U.S. Marine prior to his collegiate baseball career. As a sergeant tank commander, he was stationed on the USS Fort McHenry around the Arabian Peninsula in 2014.

Louisville competes at the NCAA Division I level and is a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The campus is located in Louisville, Kentucky.

Silkwood received his degree from Parkland in May, 2020.
