Box Score 2 CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Parkland College Baseball team continued their stretch of great baseball on Monday, sweeping Marian University in a two-game series played at the Rantoul Sports Complex. Jose Lara hit a grand slam and the Cobras won the first game 15-2 and
Keenan Taylor drove in five runs as the Cobras defeated the Knights 14-5 in the second game. The Cobras have swept their last two series and are undefeated in their last nine games.

Up next, the Cobras welcome Black Hawk College-Moline to Champaign for a two-game series tomorrow, March 15th at the Parkland College Baseball field.

Game 1: Parkland 15, Marian University 2

The Cobras drove in ten runs in the bottom of the first inning, putting this one out of reach early and taking the pressure off
Reece Rodabaugh (4.0 IP, 0 ER, 6 K), who picks up the win. Marian got two runs back in the top of the fourth inning and Parkland answered with five of their own in the bottom of the fourth as the Cobras win 15-2.

Jose Lara (1-3, HR, 4 RBI) stole the show with his first-inning grand slam and the Cobras had an overall great day at the plate.
Tyler Herron (2-3, 4 RBI, BB) tripled and both
Cole Jones (2-3) and
Austin Gomm (1-2, BB) doubled in Parkland's third straight win.

Game 2: Parkland 14, Marian University 5

Marian got on the board first in game two with two runs in the top of the third inning and the Knights led 5-2 after the fourth, but Parkland drove in five runs in the bottom of the fourth and the offense kept its foot on the gas. The Cobras pulled away in the sixth inning with six runs and secured the sweep in a 14-5 win. Parkland tallied 14 hits and six walks in the series finale.

Michael Sharman (5.0 IP, 2 ER, 9 K) made the start for the Cobras and improved his record to 2-0.
Keenan Taylor (2-4, 5 RBI) and
Austin Gomm (1-4) doubled and every starting position player recorded a hit in the win.
