Box Score 2 EAST PEORIA, Ill. – The Parkland College Baseball team went 1-1 against the Illinois Central College Cougars on Monday evening in their first conference series away from home. The Cobras lost the first game 5-2 before winning the second 14-2 in five innings.
Keenan Taylor,
Logan Reidelberger and
Cole Jones each drove in multiple runs and
Reece Rodabaugh struck out seven and allowed just six hits over five innings in the Cobras win.

Up next, the Cobras will now travel to East Peoria for a doubleheader against Illinois Central College today, March 21st. First pitch against the Cougars will be at 4:00 PM with the second game scheduled to start at 7:00 PM.

Game 1: Illinois Central College 5, Parkland College 2

The Cobras (10-7-1) struggled at the plate in the first game, striking out six times as a team. The Cobras remained locked at 0-0 with the Cougars (4-6), but the levy broke in the 5th inning when
Nick Gregory (3-4, RBI, R) and
Cole Jones (2-4, RBI) each drove in a run in the top of the frame. Illinois Central responded quickly, however, scoring five runs in the bottom of the inning. The Cougars' relief pitcher shut down the Cobras' bats for the remainder of the game and Parkland lost game one 5-2.

Michael Sharman (2-1) struck out three batters and didn't allow an earned run, but two costly errors by the Cobras defense were enough to credit Sharman with the loss.
Jack Young struck out two and didn't allow a run in his one inning of relief work on Monday.

Game 2: Parkland College 14, Illinois Central College 2

The Cobras had excellent patience in the second game on Monday as nine different players took a walk and Parkland scored in each of the first four innings. The Cobras led 5-1 after the 2nd and thanks to an 8-run top of the third inning, the game was out of the Cougars' hands quickly. Parkland outhit Illinois Central 8-6, and the Cobras ended the evening on a high note, winning 14-2 in five innings.

Cole Evans (3-3, RBI, 3 R) recorded multiple extra-base hits as he,
Jose Lara Jr. (1-1, RBI, BB, 2 R) and
Cole Jones (1-1, 3 RBI, BB, R) each didn't record a single out in the win. Seven different Cobras drove in a run in Parkland's first conference road win of the season.
