Box Score 4 BELLEVILLE, Ill. – The Parkland College Baseball had a weekend successful trip, going 3-0-1 in four games hosted by Southwestern Illinois College. The Cobras (4-3-1) defeated SWIC 4-2, and they took down Jefferson College 9-1 on Saturday. Parkland then picked up an 11-0 win over Harper College, before trying host SWIC 7-7 on Sunday in a game that had to be called due to sunlight. Six different Cobras hit a home run in Belleville weekend and
Michael Sharman picked up his first win of the season.

Game 1: Parkland 4, Southwestern Illinois College 2

The Cobras fell behind 1-0 in the bottom of the first but responded with two runs each of the next two innings. Southwestern Illinois College got one back in the bottom of the fourth, but Parkland held on and kicked off their weekend off with a 4-2 victory over SWIC.
Tyler Herron went 2-3 at the plate with a home run and two RBI in the game, while
Austin Gomm and
Nick Gregory went 1-4 to help the Cobras to the win.

Tucker Shalley (3.0 IP, 2 ER, 2 K) got the start and
Jack Young (3.0 IP, 0 ER, 4 K) shined in relief, earning his first hold of the season. Will Stockman (1.0 IP, 0 ER) got the save, surrendering just one hit in the seventh inning.

Game 2: Parkland 9, Jefferson College 1

Parkland's offense showed up early against Jefferson College, as the Cobras drove in four runs in the first inning and two runs in the second. The Vikings scored in the bottom of the third, but Cobras' pitcher
Mitch Mueller (6.0 IP, 1 ER, 13K) put a lid on their offense after that and Parkland won 9-1.

Jackson Blemler (1-3, RBI, HR) and
Jaden Lamothe (1-2, 2 RBI, HR) both went deep in a game that every single Cobra hitter logged at least one hit. Jose Lara (2-3, RBI),
Cole Evans (1-4, RBI) and
Cole Jones (2-4, RBI) each hit a triple in the win.
Jack Snider (1.0, 0 ER, 1 K) finished the game on the mound for the Cobras.

"Mitch was excellent, the offense was excellent, and the energy was the best it's ever been," Silkwood said after the 2-0 day on Saturday. "Today we made zero errors behind our pitching staff and that showed."

Game 3: Parkland 11, Harper College 0

The Cobras' bats stayed hot on Sunday morning and the pitching staff shut out Harper College as Parkland logged 15 hits and scored in five of the seven innings en route to an 11-0 win.
Keenan Taylor (2-3, 2 RBI, HR, BB) and
Cole Evans (2-3, 3 RBI, HR, BB) homered in the win.

Michael Sharman (3.0 IP, 0 ER, 3 K, 3 H) picked up the win and three Cobras split relief duties in the shutout.

Game 4: Parkland 7, Southwestern Illinois College 7

Parkland wrapped up the weekend with another matchup with the hosts, Southwestern Illinois College. The Cobras jumped out to a 4-0 lead after driving in one run in the first and three more in the top of the second, but the Blue Storm answered with six runs in the bottom of the second inning and another run in the bottom of the third to take a 7-4 lead into the fourth inning. Carter Monke (2.0 IP, 0 ER, 4 K) quieted SWIC's bats and the Cobras tied the game in the top of the sixth inning, but with both teams still tied 7-7 going into the bottom of the seventh, the game had to be called due to lack of light and Parkland ends their weekend with a tie.

Nick Gregory (1-3, 2 RBI, BB) drove in two to lead the Cobras offense on Sunday afternoon.
Jackson Moffat (2-3, RBI) and
Austin Gomm (1-3, RBI) also each drove in a run in the tie.
