Box Score 2 CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Parkland College Baseball team dropped two conference games to Danville Area Community College on Saturday, falling to the Jaguars 6-5 in extra innings in game one before a 4-3 loss in the second. Up next, the Cobras will travel to Danville Area Community College on Sunday, April 10th for a doubleheader rematch. First pitch against the Jaguars is scheduled for 1:00 PM.

Game 1: Danville Area Community College 6, Parkland College 5 (10 innings)

The Cobras (16-13-1) trailed the Jaguars (11-14) 2-0 in the top of the 1st, but Parkland battled back to tie the game at two in the bottom of the 5th. The Cobras then took a 4-2 lead in the 6th before DACC responded by tying the game at 4-4 in the top of the 7th. Neither team could break the tie until the Jaguars drove in two in the top of the 10th. The Cobras were able to get a run across in the bottom of the frame, but it wasn't enough as Parkland lost a 6-5 heartbreaker in extra innings.

Tyler Herron (1-5, 2 RBI, 2B, SB) and
Jackson Blemler each brought in two runs and
Keenan Taylor (2-5, RBI, R, 2B) drove in one in the first game.
Nick Gregory (1-5, 2 R, 2 BB, 3 SB) gave the opposing pitchers nightmares as the sophomore from Algonquin stole three bases and scored twice in the loss.

Mitch Mueller (6.33 IP, 3 ER, 7 H, 8 K) made the start for the Cobras, striking out eight batters and allowing just three runs in his appearance.
Wil Stockman (3.67 IP, 2 ER, 4 H, 4 K) was credited with the loss on Saturday in his relief appearance.

Game 2: Danville Area Community College 4, Parkland College 3

Parkland took a one-run lead in the bottom of the 2nd inning of game two, but DACC quickly answered by taking a 2-1 lead in the top of the 3rd. The Cobras tied the game at two in the 4th and both teams drove in a run in the 5th to make the score 3-3. The Jaguars got the last laugh, however, scoring again in the top of the 6th and shutting down Parkland's offense for the rest of the evening to hand the Cobras their second loss of the day.

Sophomore
Jack Young (6.0 IP, 4 ER, 6 H, 10 K) went six innings in his seventh appearance of the season, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out a season-high 10 batters in the loss.
Mason Sweeney relieved Young in the 7th, striking out the side on 15 pitches.

Keenan Taylor (1-3, HR, RBI) stayed hot at the plate with a solo home run in the second game of the doubleheader. Taylor, Blemler (2-3, RBI, 2B) and Reidelberger (1-3, RBI) each recorded an RBI in the loss.
