Box Score 4 CANTON, Ill. – The Parkland College Baseball team took on conference foe Spoon River in a home doubleheader on Friday, defeating the Snappers 12-3 and 11-1, respectively. The Cobras then traveled to Canton, IL to complete the series, this time winning 12-4 and 14-1 to complete the sweep.

Up next, the Cobras will travel to Canton, Illinois for another doubleheader with Spoon River College on Saturday, April 16th. First pitch will be at 1:00 PM.

Anthony Silkwood likes the direction his team is going, saying after the game, "We are getting better every day and controlling what we can control and that's all I can ask for. The players are doing a great job and I'm sure they will enjoy these next few days off for the Easter Holiday."

Game 1: Parkland College 12, Spoon River 3

The Cobras (22-14-1) (12-8) led 1-0 after the 2nd, but the Snappers (15-20) (3-11) didn't take long to respond, driving in three in the top of the 3rd. Parkland retook the lead after scoring three in the 4th and the Cobras led 7-3 after three more in the 5th.
Michael Sharman blanked the Snappers the rest of the way and Parkland secured the 12-3 win.

Game 2: Parkland College 11, Spoon River 1 (6 innings)

Parkland got out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 2nd and the Cobras extended their lead with three more runs in the 3rd.
Anthony Silkwood's squad led 6-0 after the 4th before trading runs with the Snappers in the 5th. Parkland drove in four more runs in the 6th to enact the mercy rule and end the game 11-1 in the 6th on Friday night.

Game 3: Parkland College 12, Spoon River 4

The Cobras once again jumped out to an early lead in game three, leading 2-0 in the top of the 4th before the Snappers drove in three runs in the bottom of the frame to take a 3-2 lead. Parkland's offense exploded in the top of the 6th, scoring eight times. The Cobras weren't done, however, scoring again in the 7th in the 12-4 Parkland win on Saturday afternoon.

Game 4: Parkland College 14, Spoon River 1 (6 innings)

Parkland didn't wait long to get on the board, scoring five in the top of the 1st in game four. Spoon River got one back in the bottom of the inning, but the Snappers offense went cold the rest of the way.
Jackson Moffat went deep, and
Jayden Gibson drove in four as the Cobras coasted to the 14-1 win and the series sweep.
