Five different Cobras went deep in the series sweep

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 QUINCY, Ill. – The Parkland College Baseball team won two games versus the Quincy University JV squad on Wednesday afternoon, defeating the Hawks 13-3 and 14-0 respectively. The Cobras outhit the Hawks 28-2 as Cole Evans, Keenan Taylor, Jimmy Rybarczyk, Nathan Waldridge and Tyler Herron each hit a home run over the course of the two games. 
 
Up next, the Cobras will welcome Danville Area Community College to Champaign on Saturday, April 9th for a doubleheader. First pitch against the Jaguars is scheduled for 1:00 PM. 
 
 
Game 1: Parkland College 13, Quincy University JV 3 (6 innings) 
 
The Cobras (16-11-1) trailed early in the first game on Wednesday, as the Hawks scored three times in the opening half-inning. Parkland tied the game at three in the bottom of the frame and the Cobras took a 6-3 lead in the 2nd inning. Parkland scored four more runs in the bottom of the 4th to break the game open, before scoring again in the 5th and 6th to close the game out and secure the 13-3 win. 
 
Nathan Righi (2.0 IP, 1 H, 3 ER) made the start for the Cobras on Wednesday. Tucker Shalley (4.0 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 3 K) relieved Righi in the third and finished the game, striking out three batters in four innings whilst not allowing a hit. 
 
Tyler Herron (3-3, 2 RBI, 3 R, HR, 2B) and Nathan Waldridge (2-4, RBI, 2 R, HR, 2B) each hit both a double and a home run at the plate for Parkland. Logan Reidelberger (2-4, 4 RBI, R, SB) led the way with four RBI while Jackson Moffat (1-2, 2 RBI, 3 R, SB), Jose Lara Jr. (1-3, 2 RBI, BB) and Herron each drove in two. 
 
Game 2: Parkland College 14, Quincy University JV 0 (4 innings) 
 
The Cobras' defense was locked in all day, especially in game two. Parkland's Jack Snider (3.0 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 2 K) made the start and did not allow a hit through three innings of work. In the bottom of the 3rd, the Cobras' offense exploded for 14 runs and quickly put the game out of the Hawks' reach. Sam Myers relieved Snider in the fourth, shutting out Quincy and clinching the four-inning 14-0 win for Parkland. 
 
The Hawks' pitchers could not get Cole Evans (3-3, 3 RBI, HR, SB) or Tyler Herron (2-2, RBI, 2 R, BB) out in game two as Evans, Keenan Taylor (2-3, 2 RBI, HR, 2 R) and Jimmy Rybarczyk (2-3, 4 RBI, R, HR) each went deep in the win.
