Box Score 2 SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The Parkland College Baseball team split their final doubleheader of the season against Lincoln Land Community College on Saturday afternoon, losing the first 1-0 before defeating the Loggers 16-10 to wrap up their 2022 regular season. The Cobras finish the year with a 29-20-2 regular season record, going 17-14-1 in conference play. Sophomore
Keenan Taylor stayed hot in Springfield, launching two home runs and driving in eight runs in the second game on Saturday.

The Cobras (29-20-2) (17-14-1) were locked in a pitching duel early Saturday afternoon, with neither team able to get on the board in the first three innings. The Loggers (38-15) (23-9) finally broke the tie with a sac fly in the bottom of the 4th, and that one run was all they would need. The Cobras outhit the Loggers 5-1, but Parkland still fell short, 1-0, in game one.

Jay Schueler (2-1) was credited with the loss in his eighth start of the season despite allowing just one run on one hit and five walks over six innings, striking out six batters in the process. Offensively, outfielders
Jose Lara Jr. (1-1) and
Cole Evans (1-1, 2 BB) both reached base in each of their plate appearances as five different Cobras recorded a hit in the loss

Game 2: Parkland College 16, Lincoln Land Community College 10

Parkland hit the ground running in game two, scoring three in the top of the 1st inning, as the Cobras grabbed an early 7-3 lead over the Loggers after the 2nd. Lincoln Land cut into the deficit in the 4th, trailing just 8-6 going into the 5th, but Parkland outpaced the Loggers the rest of the way to help the Cobras wrap up the regular season with a 16-10 victory in nine innings.

On the mound,
Jack Snider (3-1) got the start for the Cobras, allowing three runs on four hits over two innings of work in his third win of the season.
Reece Rodabaugh relieved Snider in the 3rd and
Jack Young made his 10th appearance of the season out of the bullpen in the 4th.
Carter Monke closed out the game for Parkland, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out five.

Keenan Taylor (5-5, 2 HR, 8 RBI, 3 R, 2B) was on fire at the plate in game two and he and
Jackson Blemler (5-5, RBI, 3 R) each batted 1.000. Freshmen
Jake Vitale (2-3, HR, RBI, 4 R, 3B, 2 BB) went deep in the 7th inning and led the team in scoring in the win.
