No. 20 Cobras Split Two Ranked Matchups

Parkland loses to No. 11 South Arkansas before taking down No. 3 Pearl River

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 POPLARVILLE, Miss. – The No. 20 Parkland College Baseball team went 1-1 against two ranked opponents on Friday, February 23, at Pearl River Community College. The Cobras (2-3) opened the day with a 9-5 loss to No. 11 South Arkansas College (8-7) before defeating hosts No. 3 Pearl River CC (13-4) in game two, 5-1.

"I'm really proud of the way these guys bounced back tonight after a slow start in game one," first-year head coach Zach Pych said on Friday. "Great win in an awesome environment, we will need to build off of it and keep the momentum rolling the rest of the weekend."

"Early on this season, inconsistency has been a killer for us. We showed tonight that when we fire on all cylinders, these guys are a lot of fun to watch!" Pych added.

Up next, Parkland takes on No. 11 South Arkansas College in a rematch tomorrow, February 24, at Pearl River Community College. First pitch against the Stars is scheduled for noon in Poplarville, Mississippi.
