The Cobras struck first in the top of the 2nd inning, taking the lead on a
Josh Outlaw RBI single before
Will Applegate crushed a 3-run home run to give the Cobras a 4-0 lead. The Stars scored in the bottom half to quiet the Cobras, but Outlaw added to the lead with a solo home run in the top of the 4th to make it 5-1. Sophomore transfers
Will Flanigan (1-4, RBI, R) and
Jacob Filip (1-3, 2B, RBI, R) extended the lead with back-to-back RBI in the 5th, and freshman
Michael Carrano Jr. (1-4, RBI, R) drove in Filip to push the Parkland lead to 8-1. South Arkansas got one back with a solo home run in the 6th, but sophomore
Ryan Snell (1-5, 2B, RBI) answered with an RBI double into center field in the 7th. The Stars scored three more in the bottom of the 7th, but it was too little too late as the Cobras cruised to the 9-5 win.

William O'Gorman (1-0) allowed just three hits and one run through five innings of work, striking out 10 in his second start of the season. Sophomore
Freddie Elftmann (1.0 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 3 K) relieved O'Gorman in the 6th, and freshman
Alex McHale (3.0 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, K) finished the game on the bump.
