Box Score 3 NORMAL, Ill. – The No. 20 Parkland College Baseball team finished a darkness-delayed win over No. 9 Heartland Community College before losing both games of a road conference doubleheader on Saturday, March 16th. The Cobras (10-8) (1-3) closed out a 13-10 win versus the Hawks (14-6) (7-1) in the continuation of Friday's second game to start the day but lost the following two games 10-3 and 11-8. Sam Bryan (2-1) earned the win after striking out seven in 4 2/3 innings of work yesterday, and outfielder
Ryan Snell went deep twice, his fourth and fifth of the season, leading the team with four hits on Sunday.

Up next, Parkland travels to Southeastern Illinois College for a game in Harrisburg, Illinois, on Tuesday, March 19th. First pitch against the Falcons (10-12) is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

Parkland trailed 4-2 heading into the bottom of the 3rd inning on Friday evening, but the Cobras loaded the bases and drove in six runs to take an early 8-4 lead. The Cobras knocked in two more in the bottom of the 4th on an RBI double from
Jacob Filip (2-2, 3B, 2B, RBI, 2 R) and an RBI single from
Charlie Marisca (1-3, 2 RBI, R) and
Will Flanigan (3-3, HR, 2B, 2 RBI, 4 R, BB) homered in the 5th to put Parkland up 12-6.

Parkland led 13-7 going into the top of the 7th when the game was delayed due to darkness. Heartland drove in three once the game was resumed Saturday afternoon, but it wasn't enough, and the Cobras won 13-10.

Sam Bryan (4.2 IP, 8 H, 6 ER, 7 K, 4 BB) was relieved by
Lane Lorton (1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, K) in the 5th, and freshman
Mike Boyce (1.0 IP, 2 H, 3 ER, K, 2 BB) closed the game on the mound on Saturday.

The Cobras broke a tight pitcher's duel wide open in the top of the 6th inning when
Will Flanigan (1-3, 2B, RBI, R) popped an RBI double, and
Josh Outlaw (1-3, 2B, 2 RBI) drove in Flanigan and
Ryan Snell (1-3, R) with a double, but the Hawks countered with a big 6th inning of their own, knocking in 10 runs and blanking the Cobras in the 7th to hand Parkland a 10-3 loss in seven innings.

The Hawks took a 3-0 lead in the 2nd inning, but sophomore
Ryan Snell (3-5, 2 HR, 2 RBI) lifted a solo home run in the top of the 3rd to get one back for the Cobras. Heartland loaded the bases in the bottom of the 3rd before a grand slam cleared them and put the hosts up 8-1 early, and the Hawks knocked in two more to lead 10-1 going into the 4th.

Nate Bingman (2-4, HR, 2B, 4 RBI, R) smacked his first home run of the season in the 4th, and Parkland scored three more runs in the 6th to trim the deficit to 10-6. Freshman
Adison Worthman (2-2, 2B, RBI, R) added to the rally with an RBI single in the 7th, but the Hawks answered with a sacrifice fly in the 8th, pushing the lead back to 11-7. Snell bashed his second homer of the game in the top of the 9th, and Parkland brought the tying run to the plate, but the Cobras couldn't complete the comeback and lost 11-8.

Gavin Parkerson (2-2) allowed 10 earned runs on nine hits and two walks through 2 and 2/3 innings on Saturday, striking out two. Sophomore
Hunter Pudlo (4.0 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 3 K, BB) pitched four shutout innings in relief, and
Alex Vertuno (1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, K) closed the game on the mound.
