Will Applegate launched a pinch-hit walk-off two-run home run to close the weekend with a dramatic win.

Up next, the Cobras will host two games versus North Iowa Area Community College at the Rantoul Sports Complex on Friday, March 8th. First pitch against the Trojans (5-9) is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

Parkland fell behind 1-0 on a wild pitch in the bottom of the 4th but countered right away when
Tylor Phommachanhom (2-3, RBI) lined an RBI single to right field in the 5th, scoring
Andrew Gallegos. The Cobras took their first lead in the 6th inning, going up 2-1 on a sacrifice fly from
Jacob Filip, but the Bulldogs answered in the bottom of the 7th, lifted a walk-off 2-RBI double out to left field to hand Parkland a 3-2 loss.

The Cobras trailed early again after the Blue Storm drove in two in the top of the 1st, but a two-out rally in the bottom half put Parkland up 4-2 heading into the 2nd inning. SWIC scored one in the top half, but sophomore
Ryan Snell (1-3, HR, 2 R, BB) answered with a solo home run to left field to push the lead to 5-3. The Blue Storm kept the offense rolling, scoring three in the 3rd to take a 6-5 lead before both defenses tightened up. Still trailing 6-5 with one out in the bottom of the 7th, sophomore

Will Applegate stepped up to launch his second home run of the season and win the game for Parkland, 7-6.
