Box Score 2 CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Parkland College Baseball team came from behind to win both games of a conference doubleheader at home versus Spoon River College on Saturday, March 30th. The Cobras (17-10) (7-5) continued their winning way against the Snappers (14-15) (3-11) after two wins yesterday, grinding out a 4-3 game-one win and battling back late to win game two 11-10. Sophomore 
Ryan Snell led the Cobras with 5 RBI on Saturday, while sophomore 
Luke Parmentier scored a team-high four runs in the sweep.
 
Up next, the Cobras welcome John Wood Community College to Champaign on Friday, April 5th, for another M-WAC doubleheader. First pitch against the Blazers (12-22) (2-12) is scheduled for noon at the Parkland College Baseball Field.
 
Parkland College 4, Spoon River College 3
 
The Cobras struck first in the bottom of the 1st inning, scoring on a costly Snapper error, but Spoon River responded in the 2nd with back-to-back RBI hits to take a 2-1 lead. Parkland trailed until outfielder 
Ryan Snell (1-3, RBI) grounded an RBI single up the middle, scoring 
Luke Parmentier (2 R, 2 BB) and 
Will Flanigan (1-2, R, BB), but Spoon River answered right away again, scoring on a passed ball to tie the game 3-3 in the 6th.
 
Sophomore shortstop 
Tylor Phommachanhom (1-1, 2B, RBI) lifted a go-ahead RBI double out to left field in the bottom of the 6th to score 
Jax Hisle (1-2, R, BB), and sophomore pitcher 
John Cederberg (1-0) shut down the Snappers in the 7th to close out the 4-3 win.
 
Starting pitcher 
Jaxon Christensen (5.0 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 6 K, 2 BB) sat down 22 batters in his fifth start this season.
 
Parkland College 11, Spoon River College 10
 
Parkland opened the scoring again in the bottom of the 1st with an RBI single from 
Ryan Snell, but Spoon River countered, walking in the tying run and lifting a grand slam in the top of the 3rd to take a 5-1 lead. Freshman outfielder 
Adison Worthman (1-5, HR, 2 RBI) pumped a 2-run homer in the bottom half to cut the deficit to two until the Snappers smacked a 2-run home run of their own to go up 7-3.
 
Spoon River led 8-3 in the bottom of the 5th before Snell (2-5, HR, 4 RBI, R) lifted a 3-run blast over the left field fence to close the gap again. The Snappers walked in a run the next inning, but Cobra freshman 
Jax Hisle kept the comeback alive with another 2-run home run in the bottom half to cut it to 9-8 in the 6th. Spoon River loaded the bases in the 7th, but Parkland got out of the jam, and back-to-back RBI hits from 
Josh Outlaw (2-2, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R) and Hisle (3-4, HR, 3 RBI, R) gave the Cobras a late 11-9 lead. The Snappers loaded the bases again and scored in the top of the 9th, but Parkland limited the damage and held on to win 11-10.
 
Freshman 
Alex McHale (4.0 IP, 6 H, 7 ER, 4 K, 2 BB) started the game on the mound, relieved by 
Hunter Pudlo (1.2 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, K, 5 BB) in the 5th. Freshman 
Gavin Parkerson (3-3) got out of a couple of jams to earn the win, allowing one hit and one earned run over 2 and 1/3 innings, and 
Alex Vertuno (1.0 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, BB) picked up the save on Saturday.
