Box Score 2 DANVILLE, Ill. – The Parkland College Baseball team continued their winning ways with two victories on the road against conference-rival Danville Area Community College on Saturday, April 13th. The Cobras (23-10) (13-5) shut out the Jaguars (16-19) (11-7) in a 7-0 game-one win, and the visitors held on to win game two 7-6 to extend their winning streak to 11 straight games. Sophomore pitchers
William O'Gorman (4-0) and
Sam Bryan (5-1) picked up wins in their respective starts – and sophomore
Will Flanigan crushed two home runs to lead the team with four RBI on Saturday.

Up next, the Cobras host DACC tomorrow, April 14th, for the conclusion of their regular season series against the Jaguars. First pitch is scheduled for noon on Sunday.

Parkland opened the scoring with a solo home run from
Will Flanigan in the top of the 1st inning, and Flanigan (2-4, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 3 R) blasted a 3-run shot over the right field fence, his 8th of the season, to extend the lead to 4-0 in the 3rd. In the 5th inning, sophomore
Ryan Snell reached on an error, scoring
Michael Carrano Jr. (2-5, 2B, 2 R),
Josh Outlaw lifted a sacrifice fly to score Flanigan, and
Tylor Phommachanhom (2-4, RBI) lined an RBI single up the middle to give the Cobras a 7-0 lead.

On the mound,
William O'Gorman (7.0 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 11 K, 5 BB) struck out a season-high 11 batters in seven innings of work, handing the ball off to
Alex Vertuno (2.0 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 3 K, 3 BB) in the 8th inning. Danville Area loaded the bases against Vertuno in the 8th and 9th innings – but the sophomore got out of both innings scoreless – and Parkland picked up a 7-0 shutout win in game one.

The Cobras quickly loaded the bases and took a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st, but the Jaguars answered right away, scoring twice to take their first lead of the day. Parkland didn't stay down long, tying the game on a groundout from
Tylor Phommachanhom in the 2nd, and
Andrew Gallegos scored on a wild pitch to take a 3-2 lead.

DACC knotted the game up with an RBI single in the 3rd before Parkland scored on a bases-loaded walk in the 5th to regain the lead – but the home team drove in another tying run in the 5th to make the score 5-5 heading into the 6th. Freshman
Tyson Gomm scored on a wild pitch – and
Will Applegate (1-3, 2B, RBI, R, BB) lined an RBI double in the same at bat to give the Cobras the lead again, and
Charlie Marisca (2-3, 2B, RBI, BB) crushed an RBI double to center field to give the Cobras some much-needed insurance and a 7-4 lead in the top of the 6th. The Jaguars scored twice in the bottom half to close the deficit, but a scoreless 7th inning saw the Cobras close out a back-and-forth 7-6 win.

Sam Bryan (6.0 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 9 K, 3 BB) won his 5th consecutive decision, allowing two earned runs on seven hits and three walks, striking out nine. Freshman
Lane Lorton (1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 1 K) entered the game in the 7th and earned his first career save in the win.
