Box Score 2 RANTOUL, Ill. – The Parkland College Baseball team picked up two more wins versus John Wood Community College on Monday, April 8th. The Cobras (21-10) (11-5) held on to win 16-14 on a walk-off home run in game one against the Blazers (13-27) (3-17) before rolling in a 15-7 win in game two to extend their current win streak to nine consecutive games. Charlie Marisca compiled eight RBI during the doubleheader, while pitchers
Mike Boyce (2-0) and
Hunter Pudlo (3-0) earned wins on Monday.

Up next, the Cobras take on Danville Area Community College at home on Friday, April 12th. First pitch of the conference doubleheader versus the Jaguars (16-17) (11-5) is scheduled for noon at the Parkland College Baseball Field.

The Cobras took a 2-0 lead on a 2-RBI triple from
Charlie Marisca in the bottom of the 2nd inning – and Marisca grounded a bases-loaded 2-RBI single in the 3rd to push the lead to 6-0. Freshman
Will Applegate (2-4, HR, 2 RBI, 3 R, BB) smashed a 2-run home run to right field in the 4th to extend the lead, but the Blazers drove in three in the top of the 5th to close the gap.

Adison Worthman lifted a 2-run homer in the bottom of the 5th before John Wood hit four home runs in the top of the 6th to erase the deficit and take an 11-10 lead. The Cobras regained the lead on a 2-RBI single from Worthman (2-2, HR, 4 RBI, 3 R) in the 6th, and Marisca (3-4, HR, 3B, 6 RBI, R) lifted a 2-run home run to lead 14-11. The Blazers tied it back up in the top of the 7th inning before sophomore
Will Flanigan (3-5, HR, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R) lined a 2-run home run to right field, and the Cobras won in walk-off fashion 16-14.

Parkland powered ahead with nine runs in the bottom of the 1st inning, loading the bases early and walking in a run to open the scoring and capping the inning with a
Luke Parmentier (2-3, HR, 3 RBI, 4 R, BB) grand slam. Sophomore shortstop
Tylor Phommachanhom (3-4, 2 2B, 3 RBI, R) added to the lead with an RBI double in the 2nd, but the Blazers got one back in the top of the 3rd to make it 10-1.

John Wood loaded the bases in the top of the 4th – and closed the deficit to 11-7 with a 6-run rally, but Parkland responded with a sacrifice fly from
Jax Hisle (2-3, 2 2B, 3 RBI, 2 R), and Micheal Carrano Jr. (3-5, HR, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R) crushed a 2-run homer in the bottom of the 7th to run-rule the visitors and win 15-7.
