Cross Country Competes in the Bradley Intercollegiate

Angelle Wrobel leads the Cobras

PEORIA, Ill. On Friday, September 20th, the Parkland cross country & half marathon team competed in the Bradley Intercollegiate in Peoria, Illinois. The Cobras showed well in the competition that included NCAA Division I, II, and III schools.

Angelle Wrobel led the Cobras, finishing the 3-mile race in a time of 21:08.30 to earn 66th place out of 104 finishers. Rebekah Maxwell finished in 81st place with a time of 22:20.90. Ella Doty nearly broke the 24 minute mark, running 24:02.00 for 91st place. Arianna LeFaivre started the race but was not able to complete the distance as she continues to recover from an earlier injury.

"I am encouraged by the competitive spirit of our Cobras against a strong field," Parkland head coach Art Georges said in a statement. "Next week we will see how we stack up against a field in what will be largely a Junior College competition. Our runners are putting in the work and I'm very proud of their competitive heart."

Since only four Cobras ran in the 3-mile race, Parkland did not score as a team.

Women's 3-Mile Individual Results:

66. Angelle Wrobel (21:08.30)
81. Rebekah Maxwell (22:20.90)
91. Ella Doty (24:02.00)

Up next, the Cobras travel to Normal, Illinois, for the Heartland Invitational on Thursday, September 26th.
