PETERSBURG, Ind. — October 24, 2025 — The Parkland College women's cross country team capped off a strong postseason run with a third-place team finish at the NJCAA Region 24 Championship. The event, which proved to be a challenging course filled with hills and many sharp turns, featured both Division I and Division II programs, resulting in separate regional and overall standings for individual runners.
Leading the way for the Cobras in the women's 5k, was Aleigha Garrison, who continued her standout season with a second-place regional finish (third overall), crossing the line in 19:38.
Parkland's depth was on full display, with four runners placing in the top 15 regionally:
The Cobras' third-place regional finish secures their spot at the NJCAA Division II National Championship, where they will compete among the nation's top programs.
Up next, Parkland will travel to Fort Dodge, Iowa, for the NJCAA DII Nationals, scheduled for November 7–12.
