Cobras Advance to District Championship Final With Win Over Mineral Area

Parkland’s postseason run continues with clutch 2–1 victory

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — November 7, 2025 — The Parkland College men's soccer team opened play at the NJCAA DII Central District Championship semifinals with a 2–1 victory over Mineral Area College on Friday. With the win, the Cobras improve to 11-8 and advance to Saturday's championship game, where they will face St. Louis Community College for a chance to qualify for the national tournament.

After a scoreless first half, Parkland broke through in the 52nd minute when Santiago Samame put away a pass from Isaac Warren to give the Cobras a 1–0 lead. Just two minutes later, Samame assisted—connecting with Kyotoro Mori to double the advantage. Mineral Area pulled one back in the 56th minute, but Parkland's back line and goalkeeper Tresody Ondongo held strong the rest of the way to secure the win.

Ondongo finished with three saves in the match.

The Cobras will play St. Louis Community College on Saturday, November 8, in the District Championship title match. A win would significantly boost Parkland's chances of earning a spot at the NJCAA DII National Tournament.
