Box Score 2 VINCENNES, Ind. – No. 14 Parkland baseball split a doubleheader with Vincennes University (12-13) on Friday, March 21. The Cobras (12-7) struggled to string together hits in the first game, but powered back in the second game to end the day with a Region 24 win on the road.Â

The game started with a scoreless first inning for Parkland, while Vincennes took an early 5-0 lead. Parkland struggled offensively through the second and third innings, unable to generate momentum against the Trailblazers. A
Jax Hisle home run put the Cobras on the board in the 4th inning, and they scored another two runs in the 6th, but it wasn't enough to pull ahead of Vincennes. The Cobras fell 11-3 in seven innings, led by
Mark Mennecke with two hits.Â
Gavin Parkerson (4.0 IP, 4 H, 6 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 6 K) took the loss for the Cobras, and
Collin Cirks (2.1 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 2 K) came on in relief in the 5th inning.Â

Back-to-back home runs in the top of the 1st inning from
Michael Carrano Jr. and
Adison Worthman put the Cobras ahead 3-0 in the second game of the doubleheader. Vincennes matched this in the bottom half of the inning to tie the game, but Parkland tacked on another seven runs in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th innings to get the 10-3 lead. The Trailblazers scored two in the bottom of the 7th, but the Cobras secured the 10-5 victory in seven innings to split the road doubleheader. Carrano Jr. knocked in six runs for the Cobras in the win.Â

Cody DelFavero (1 BB, 7 K) earned the win, allowing eight hits and three runs in 5.2 innings.
Sam Foulke (1 BB, 1 K) appeared in relief for the Cobras, allowing three hits and two runs in 1.1 innings.
