The Cobras wasted no time asserting their presence at the plate, drawing multiple walks in the first inning and capitalizing on a hit-by-pitch situation to take an early 5-0 lead. Spoon River managed to close the gap in the third inning, taking advantage of an error and a key single to bring the score to 5-3. However, Parkland quickly responded in the fourth inning, adding seven more runs to make the score 12-3, and then tacking on another two in the 5th inning to win it 14-4. Micheal Carrano Jr. had two hits and
Adison Worthman had three RBI to lead the Cobra offense.Â
Gavin Parkerson (2 H, 4 R, 1 ER, 1 BB) pitched all five innings for the Cobras, earning the win and recording seven strikeouts.Â

Parkland scored first in the second game, getting two runs in the 2nd inning after
Will Applegate doubled and
Matthew Carrano scored on a wild pitch. Parkland continued to capitalize on opportunities, adding five runs in the fourth inning, including an RBI single by
Jax Hisle and a sacrifice fly from
Adison Worthman, making it a 7-0 game. The 6th inning saw Spoon River mount a comeback attempt, scoring four runs to make it 8-6. Despite the momentum shift, Parkland responded in dominant fashion in the bottom half, plating seven runs and securing the 15-6 victory.Â
Cody DelFavero (5.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 6 K) earned the win for the Cobras, and Michael Boyce (3 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 1 K) and
Alec Bergman (1.2 IP, 0 H, 2 K) relieved the starting pitcher.Â
Up next, the Cobras travel to Canton, Illinois, to play another doubleheader against the Snappers. The first game is scheduled for 12:00 pm on Saturday, March 29.
