Box Score PALOS HILLS, Ill. – The No. 16 ranked Parkland baseball team defeated Moraine Valley Community College (17-22) 17-9 on Thursday, April 17. The two teams battled for the first few innings before a six-run 4th inning gave the Cobras (25-11) the leeway they needed.
Mark Mennecke finished with four RBI and hit his fifth home run of the season to help the Cobras secure the win on the road.Â

The Cobras scored five runs in the 2nd inning, thanks to hits from
Jax Hisle,
Mark Mennecke, and
Michael Carrano Jr. The Cyclones fought back in the bottom of the inning, cutting the lead to one run and then tying it up in the 3rd. Parkland had another big inning in the 4th, putting up an additional six runs to pull ahead 12-6. Both teams continued to score runs in the final innings, but the Cyclones could not overcome the deficit. Parkland had 12 hits in the win, led by
Michael Carrano Jr. with three hits.
Five Cobras pitched in the game, including
Alex McHale,
Cade Starrick,
Richard Gomez,
Jake Perrino, and
Sam Foulke. Foulke got the win, surrendering three hits and three runs over one inning.Â
Up next, the Cobras play a doubleheader at Lewis & Clark Community College (21-21) on Friday, April 18. The first game is scheduled for 12:00 pm in Alton, Illinois.Â
