Box Score CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Parkland baseball team dominated No. 23 Elgin Community College (32-11) on Monday, April 28, winning 10-0 in eight innings. Parkland's pitchers Mike Boyce, Alex McHale, and Cale Coursey scattered a few walks but did not allow a single hit in the win.

Parkland (28-17) got the 3-0 lead by the 5th inning thanks to hits from Nick Guidici and Andrew Gallegos. The Cobras took advantage of Elgin's pitching struggles in the 6th inning, scoring several runs in hit-by-pitch situations and by drawing walks. By the end of the 6th, the Cobras had the 9-0 lead, and a sacrifice fly by Dawson Magrini in the 8th secured the 10-0 victory. The Cobras tallied eight hits, led by Alex Schimmel with three. Gallegos added two hits and three RBI, and also made 10 plays on defense. Mark Mennecke drew three walks. 

Alex McHale (4.0 IP, 0 R, 0 H) earned the win, striking out five and walking one.

Up next, the Cobras play a home doubleheader against Illinois Central College (14-35) on Friday, May 2. The first game is scheduled for 12:00 pm at the Parkland Baseball Field.
