SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The Parkland baseball team took two losses in the Region 24 Tournament to Lincoln Land Community College (34-17) and Vincennes University (25-32) on Friday, May 9. The losses ending their 2025 season, and the Cobras finished with an overall record of 33-19.Â

Lincoln Land Community College 10, Parkland College 1

The Cobras got on the board first, scoring their only run of the game in the top of the 1st thanks to a Lincoln Land error. It remained a 1-0 game until the bottom of the 3rd, when the Loggers exploded for six runs. Despite getting runners on base, the Cobras were unable to capitalize, and the Loggers added another four runs in the bottom of the 7th to get the 10-1 win over Parkland.Â

Will Applegate and
Alex Schimmel each added one.
Tyler Tylka (3 BB, 3 K) took the loss, surrendering five hits and six runs in 2.1 innings.Â

Vincennes University 3, Parkland College 1

Vincennes went up 1-0 in the 1st, but Parkland tied it up 1-1 in the 3rd with a base hit from
Will Applegate. The score remained tied until the bottom of the 5th when Vincennes put another two on the board, and the Cobras were unable to get a run across the plate again. Despite outhitting the Trailblazers 7-2, the Cobras fell 3-1, ultimately ending their 2025 season.Â

Applegate finished with three hits and one RBI.
Adison Worthman and
Jax Hisle each drew two walks.
Cale Coursey (0 H, 2 BB, 2 K) took the loss, giving up two runs in 3.1 innings.Â
