RANTOUL, Ill.—March 13, 2026— The Parkland College baseball team celebrated its home opener in impressive fashion on Friday afternoon, sweeping No. 10 Heartland Community College in a doubleheader with commanding 23–6 and 9–6 victories.

With the pair of wins, the Cobras improve to 8–9 on the season while picking up two key wins over a nationally ranked opponent.

Parkland's offense set the tone early in Game One, erupting for 23 runs in a dominant performance at the plate. The Cobras consistently applied pressure throughout the lineup, stringing together hits and capitalizing on scoring opportunities to build a comfortable lead. The offensive explosion powered Parkland to a convincing 23–6 victory, marking one of the team's most productive games of the season.

The Cobras carried that momentum into Game Two, where they again jumped ahead early and held off a late push from the Hawks. Parkland finished with 9 runs in the nightcap, using timely hitting and solid pitching down the stretch to secure the 9–6 win and complete the sweep.

The victories marked an important turnaround moment for Parkland, as the Cobras bounced back from a challenging road stretch to earn two strong wins against a top-10 opponent in their first home games of the year.

Up next, Parkland will travel to Normal, Illinois on March 14 to face Heartland Community College again in a return doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., with the second game set for 4:00 p.m.
