Box Score 2 NORMAL, Ill.—March 14, 2026— After sweeping No. 10 Heartland Community College at home on Friday, the Parkland College baseball team traveled to Normal on Saturday for the return doubleheader, falling in both games to the Hawks, 5–5 and 7–11. With the losses, the Cobras move to 8–11 on the season.
Game One: Parkland 5, Heartland 6
Parkland battled throughout the opener but came up just short in a tight 5–6 contest.
Cody DelFavero powered the Cobras offensively, going 2-for-4 with two home runs, three RBI, and two runs scored. Jayden Patel also added a home run and finished with an RBI, while Ryan Kondrad and Cal Hanson each contributed a run batted in. Ryan Kondrad also recorded a double for Parkland.
The Cobras collected eight hits in the game and scored twice in the third inning before adding three more runs in the seventh to make a late push.
On the mound, Logan Gale started and allowed six runs over two innings. Ethan Borggren followed with three scoreless innings, striking out two while allowing three hits, and Connor Hale added a clean inning of relief.
Despite the late rally, Heartland held on to secure the one-run win.
Game Two: Parkland 7, Heartland 11
In the nightcap, the Cobras again showed offensive production but could not overcome a strong Heartland lineup.
Matthew Carrano led Parkland at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI, while Jayden Patel and Kael Karczewski each added multiple hits. Cody DelFavero, Alex Schimmell, Ryan Kondrad, Cal Hanson, and Matt Knapcyzk all recorded RBIs in the contest as Parkland finished with 10 hits.
The Cobras scored five runs in the sixth inning to briefly close the gap, but Heartland responded to maintain control of the game and secure the victory. Parkland pitchers combined for eight strikeouts in the contest.
Up next, Parkland will host No. 21 Kankakee Community College on March 18.
