RANTOUL, Ill.—March 22, 2026— The Parkland College baseball team put together a dominant weekend performance, sweeping four games from Spoon River College across Saturday and Sunday. The Cobras earned road wins of 12–3 and 15–0 in Canton on Saturday before returning home to complete the sweep with 13–3 and 13–4 victories on Sunday.
With the four-game sweep, Parkland improves to 12–12 on the season.
Saturday Doubleheader (at Spoon River)
Parkland opened the weekend with a strong showing on the road, using balanced offense and solid pitching to take both games.
In Game One, the Cobras controlled the pace early and never looked back in a 12–3 win, stringing together consistent offense to build a comfortable lead.
The Cobras followed with an even more dominant performance in Game Two, shutting out Spoon River 15–0 in a game that went nine innings. Parkland's pitching staff was outstanding, keeping the Snappers off the scoreboard while the offense continued to produce at a high level.
Sunday Doubleheader (vs. Spoon River)
Back at home, Parkland carried the momentum into Sunday's twin bill.
The Cobras opened the day with a 13–3 victory in 6 innings, using a big early surge to put the game out of reach quickly.
In the weekend finale, Parkland again showcased its offensive depth in a 13–4 win (eight innings), tallying 19 hits while continuing to apply pressure throughout the lineup.
Cody DelFavero led the charge in the finale with a 4-for-6 performance, 3 runs scored, and 2 RBI, while Jayden Patel added 4 hits and a run scored. Ryan Kondrad drove in 3 runs, and Eloy Suarez contributed 3 hits and 3 RBI. Joseph Fry was strong on the mound, striking out 9 over 6 innings to anchor the pitching effort.
Parkland's offense combined for 53 runs over 4games, highlighting a complete team performance on both sides of the ball.
Up next, the Cobras will remain at home to host Lake Land College in a doubleheader on March 24.
