The Cobra Women played their best over-all game of the season on Friday as they raced out to an early lead and never looked back in a 77-57 rout of Kankakee CC at the Laker Classic in Mattoon. The win moves the Cobras to (8-4) while the Cavaliers fall to (10-3).
PC jumped out to a 24-13 lead after the opening quarter and took a 45-27 lead into the halftime break.
Ryan Dooley paced the attack with 12 points and 6 assists in the opening 20 minutes as PC had 13 assists on 19 baskets after the opening two quarters.
It was more Cobras in the second half as they pushed the lead to as many as 27 points with 5:04 to go before settling for the twenty point win. Dooley led the way with 17 points while
Janiece Thomas had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Crystal Mathis added 14 points and 9 boards while Heather DeLuca had a great over-all game with 6 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds.
Olivia Babcock chipped in 6 assists and 6 boards as every PC player had at least 6 rebounds as they won the battle on the glass 52-38.
The Cobras are off until Saturday January 6th when they will host Olney Central College.
