The Parkland College Baseball team completed a weekend sweep of Lincoln College Sunday as they beat the Lynx 8-1 and 6-4. The wins improve the Cobras to (33-11 19-5) and land them in a tie for first in the M-WAC and Region 24 with eight conference games to play.
Game 1:
The Cobras scored five times in the first and three Cobra hurlers limited the Lynx to just one run on three hits as PC rolled to the 8-1 win.Â
Luke Smith went 5 solid innings to earn the win allowing no runs on one hit while striking out six.
Cody Hawthorne and
Evan Snyder worked the final two innings to wrap up the victory. Parkland returns to action on Wednesday when they play Lake Land in a non-conference contest.
Brendan Joyce walked to get things going and
Trevor Minder doubled to put PC on the board.
Connor Aube followed with an RBI single and after a Tyler Pauslen walk, Alex Stienbach cracked a three-run homer to give PC a 5-0 lead. Steinbach added an RBI single in the 3rd as he went 4-4 in the game with 4 runs batted in.
Connor Aube hit a solo home run in the 4th and
Bobby Barnard scored a run via a sacrifice fly. Aube went 3-3 in the game and drove in a pair

Game 2:
PC led 6-0 after five innings before the Lynx rallied with a four run 6th, but Garret Acton struck out the side in the 7th to insure the win.
Christian Sidoti earned the win going four innings allowing just one hit.
PC scored twice in the 2nd as
Evan Huffman had a sacrifice fly and
Brendan Joyce an RBI single. Two more runs scored in the 4th as Minder drove in a run and the second run came across the plate on a wild pitch. Joyce and Minder both drove in runs as PC scored their final two runs in the 5th. Joyce, Minder, and Paulsen each had two hits in the game.
