Cobras Stay Hot with Four-Game Sweep of Lincoln Land

Parkland dominates weekend series, outscoring Loggers 36-8

SPRINGFIELD/CHAMPAIGN, Ill.—April 19, 2026—The Parkland College baseball team put together a dominant two-day stretch, sweeping a four-game series against Lincoln Land Community College with wins on both Sunday and Monday. The Cobras earned victories of 16-3 (5 innings) and 6-5 (7 innings) on Sunday in Springfield before completing the sweep at home on Monday with 4-0 (7 innings) and 10-0 (6 innings) wins.

With the four-game sweep, Parkland improves to 27-15 overall on the season.

Parkland's offense set the tone early in Sunday's opener, exploding for 16 runs on 14 hits in a run-rule victory. The Cobras plated 9 runs in the first 2 innings and never looked back. Matthew Carrano, Jayden Patel, Ryan Kondrad, and Nick Guidici each homered in the win, while Kondrad and Guidici led the team with 3 RBIs apiece. On the mound, Tyler Tylka earned the win, striking out 6 over 5 innings.

Game Two on Sunday proved to be a tighter contest, but the Cobras held off a late push from Lincoln Land to secure a 6-5 victory. Timely hitting proved to be the difference, with RBIs from Carrano, Patel, Kondrad, and Kael Karczewski helping Parkland complete the road sweep.

Back at home on Monday, Parkland leaned on dominant pitching in Game One, shutting out Lincoln Land 4-0. Brodie Farrell delivered a standout performance, tossing 6 scoreless innings while striking out 10 and allowing just 2 hits. Amaan Khan closed out the game to complete the shutout.

The Cobras capped the series with another commanding performance in Game Two, defeating Lincoln Land 10-0 in 6 innings. Parkland's offense stayed consistent, while the pitching staff allowed just one hit in the game. Cade Starrick led the way on the mound with 6 shutout innings and 8 strikeouts.

Across the four-game stretch, Parkland outscored Lincoln Land 36-8, showcasing a balanced attack of explosive offense and dominant pitching.

Up next, the Cobras will travel to Belleville, Illinois to take on Southwestern Illinois College on April 22, with first pitch scheduled for 3:00 PM CST.
