VINCENNES, Ill.—April 7, 2026—The Parkland College baseball team earned a split on the road Tuesday afternoon, defeating Vincennes University 11–1 in Game One before dropping the second game 11–14 in a back-and-forth contest.
With the split, the Cobras move to 19–15 overall on the season.
Game One: Parkland 11, Vincennes 1
The Cobras set the tone early, using a five-run third inning to break the game open and cruise to a decisive victory.
Parkland's offense produced a balanced attack, while the pitching staff limited Vincennes to just 1 run on 3 hits. The Cobras added insurance runs late, including a four-run sixth inning, to secure the run-rule win.
Game Two: Parkland 11, Vincennes 14
Game Two turned into an offensive battle, with both teams trading runs throughout.
Parkland showed resilience after falling behind early, scoring in 5 different innings and totaling 11 runs, but Vincennes capitalized on a big first inning and continued to answer offensively down the stretch.
Despite the loss, the Cobras' lineup remained productive, keeping the game within reach until the final innings.
Parkland's ability to respond throughout the day highlights the team's continued growth as they navigate a competitive stretch of the season.
Up next, the Cobras will return home to host Lewis & Clark Community College in a doubleheader on April 11, with first pitch scheduled for 12:00 PM and 3:30 PM CST.
