Cobras Lose on the Road 6-1 Versus North Central

Izzy Fritz scores a direct free kick in the loss

Box Score NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The Parkland College women's soccer team lost to the NCAA DIII North Central College Reserves 6-1 on Thursday night. Izzy Fritz was the Cobras lone goal-scorer, doing so on a free kick late in the second half.
 
The Cobras (4-10-1) knew they were in for a tough game against an NCAA opponent tonight, and the Cardinal's reserves made their presence known early, scoring in the ninth minute and the 43rd minute to make it 2-0 at halftime. The Cardinals started to have more success against the Cobras in the second half, scoring in the 47th, 51st, 55th and 79th minute, but the Cobras would not go quietly. After a foul outside the box late in the game, Izzy Fritz stepped up and buried the free kick in the 84th minute to make it a 6-1 final score. Parkland goalkeeper Becky Painter had seven saves in the first half and backup goalkeeper Dana Jarden had nine in the second half.
