The Cobras (2-1) struggled on the glass early, allowing Kirkwood to gather 6 offensive rebounds, and found themselves down 17-9 after the first quarter. The Eagles (4-0) continued to stretch their lead out in the second quarter while the Cobra offense continued to stall. Parkland went into halftime trailing 35-17, but
Mady Harper exploded for 10 points in the third quarter to cut the Eagle lead to just 7 points going into the fourth. Kirkwood didn't let it get much closer than that though, eventually pulling away and securing the 72-50 victory.
