Box Score CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Parkland women's basketball team began their season with a resounding 91-50 win over the visiting Moraine Valley Community College on Friday night. The game was their first of two this weekend in the Parkland North vs. South Challenge. Were led offensively by Sophomore Mady Harper, who finished with 17 points and 6 rebounds.
 
The Cobras (1-0) had two new faces in the starting lineup on Friday afternoon, freshmen Kenzey Decker made her first career start alongside sophomore DePauw transfer Sarah Isaf, both of which made immediate impacts with a combined 28 points and 8 assists from the newcomers. Moraine Valley (0-1) struggled against the Parkland defense, shooting just 28% from the field and 15% from deep. Returning All-American Naomi McDaniel added another impressive performance to her career, totaling 14 points, 12 rebounds and 2 blocks. Parkland showed some growing pains in their first game of the season, coughing up 29 turnovers and shooting only 69% from the free throw line, but it didn't matter in the end as the Cobras start the season with a strong 91-50 win.
