Box Score CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Parkland women's basketball team won on Saturday afternoon, beating Spoon River College 63-58.
Mady Harper hit two back-to-back threes to give the Cobras the lead in the fourth quarter and stepped up to hit four clutch free throws late in the game to give Parkland its 2nd win in four days.

Neither team could get themselves into an offensive groove early on Saturday afternoon. The Cobras (13-3) lead 13-11 after the first quarter but went ice cold in the second, shooting just 3-14 from the field and falling behind the Snappers (11-10). Parkland committed 15 turnovers in the first half, allowing a Spoon River team shooting just 26.3% from the field (10-38) to hold a five-point lead at halftime, 25-20. The Cobras opened the second half with a quick 7-0 run to retake the lead, but the Snappers responded with an 8-2 run of their own. The third quarter remained close the whole way and Spoon River held a 41-35 lead going into the fourth. After trading buckets early in the final quarter,
Mady Harper (13 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals) hit two back-to-back shots from behind the arc to give Parkland a 46-44 lead with 7:14 to go. The Cobras outscored the Snappers 28-17 in the final quarter and picked up a big conference win 63-58.
Shaelynn Bell (5 points, 11 rebounds, 4 blocks) helped Parkland control the paint and the Cobras shot 10-11 from the free throw line in the win.
