Box Score CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The No. 14 Parkland College women's soccer team earned another hard-fought conference win on Saturday, October 8th with a 4-0 win over John Wood Community College. Parkland freshman Faith Niebrugge recorded a hat trick and assisted Lauren Schnepper to lead the Cobras to their fifth home win of the season, the team's most since 2017. Freshman goalkeeper Hannah Null made five saves in the win.
 
After the game, Cobras' head coach Dan Vogelsang said, "It was nice to see our much-needed rest pay off. We controlled the entire game but struggled to find the back of the net during the first half. I am extremely pleased with how the team played today. It was great to see the team keep pushing forward and not give up."
 
The Cobras (8-6) looked fresh from the opening whistle, putting pressure on the Blazers (1-12) and finally breaking through when Scarlett Archer assisted Faith Niebrugge in the 40th minute to put Parkland on top 1-0 at halftime. Niebrugge doubled the Parkland lead on an Arwen Wright assist in the 64th before assisting Lauren Schnepper in the 80th to give the Cobras a 3-0 lead. The Mattoon native wasn't done though, completing her fourth hat trick season in the 82nd minute to guide Parkland to the 4-0 win.
