Box Score CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The No. 20 ranked Parkland College women's basketball team battled in a back-and-forth game at home against Kaskaskia College on Saturday, November 12th, as the Cobras pulled away at the end for a 68-48 win. Parkland outrebounded Kaskaskia 33-18 and the Cobras outscored the Blue Angels 28-20 in the paint in the team's fifth straight win to open the season. Redshirt sophomore Shae Bell led all scorers with 18 points and freshman Alyssa Cole gathered a game-high 11 rebounds.

"Huge credit to our ladies for turning it around at the half. We had to work on settling in, taking care of the ball, executing, and being more aware on defense," said head coach
Laura Litchfield after the win. "Doing the little things got us back on track and we were able to extend the lead in the second half."

The Cobras (5-0) trailed early in a sloppy start to the game that included three Parkland turnovers in a row and the Blue Angels (3-1) led 5-3 with 6:53 to go in the first quarter, but Parkland's Abby Shepard buried a three to give the Cobras their first lead of the game 30 seconds later. The Cobras led 14-13 at the beginning of the second quarter as the back-and-forth first half continued. The Blue Angels retook the lead 1:22 into the second period as the two teams battled it out for the rest of the half. Parkland sophomore Kenzey Decker scored her only points of the afternoon on a go-ahead three-pointer late in the first half to give the Cobras the 30-27 lead at halftime. Parkland's offense caught fire to start the second half, shooting 73.3% from the field in the third quarter as the Cobras pulled away. The team led 62-42 after an 8-1 run to open the fourth quarter as Parkland controlled the game down the stretch and secured the 68-48 win at home.
