Box Score UNIVERSITY PARK, Ill. – The Parkland College women's basketball team secured its first win under new head coach
Laura Litchfield on Wednesday, November 2nd, as the Cobras defeated the Governors State JV squad 72-53 on the road. Freshman Alyssa Cole led the team in scoring with 25 points off the bench in her first game as a Cobra while sophomore Chloe Gould recorded a career-high 13 rebounds in the win. Parkland controlled the glass on Wednesday night, outrebounding the Jaguars 52-24, as the Cobras (1-0) held their opponent to just 29% from the field.
"We started off strong, but then got in a bit of a rut defensively," first-year head coach
Laura Litchfield said after the win. "The team responded better coming out of the half and we were able to build momentum and extend the lead. Chloe Gould had a huge game for us, and Alyssa Cole came off the bench and made a huge impact."
