Box Score CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Parkland College women's soccer team opened postseason play with an exciting 2-1 comeback win against Lincoln Land Community College on Tuesday, October 24, in the first round of the NJCAA DII Great Lakes District Championship. The Cobras (5-11) fell behind in the first half but rallied to defeat the Loggers (0-16-4) in the second half with goals from
Lera Wilson and
Emma Obert. Parkland goalkeeper
Hannah Null recorded one save in the game, earning her second career postseason win.
"We struggled a bit in the first half, but (we) came out strong and started wanting it more in the second half," co-interim head coach
Maria Jorquera said after the game. "We started to play more aggressively – going towards the ball, taking shots, and making the right passes."
Up next, the Cobras continue postseason play at No. 6 Heartland Community College on Friday, October 27. Kick-off against the Hawks (13-0) is scheduled for noon on Friday in Normal, Illinois.
