Cobras Lose 4-0 in Region 24 Semifinals at Heartland Community College

Parkland finish the season with a record of 5-12

Box Score NORMAL, Ill. – The Parkland College women's soccer team lost 4-0 to No. 6 Heartland Community College on Friday, October 27, in the second round of the NJCAA DII Region 24 Tournament. The Cobras (5-12) dropped out of postseason play with a season-ending loss to the Hawks (14-0) at the Corn Crib on Friday, ending a three-game winning streak. Sophomore goalkeeper Hannah Null recorded 13 saves in the game.
 
"The girls played a great match this afternoon," co-interim head coach Mary Woods said after the loss. "They maintained a positive attitude through the entire match, and we are very proud of all the hard work they have put in this season."
 
The Hawks scored two goals less than one minute apart in the first half and went into halftime with a 2-0 lead. The Cobras controlled the tempo much better in the second half, but Heartland still broke through in the 59th minute and the 75th minute, closing the season with a 4-0 loss.
