Three Parkland Women’s Soccer Players Earn All-Region 24 Recognition

Sophomores Lauren Schnepper, Lisa Kirwan and Hannah Null recognized by Region 24

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Parkland College Athletics and the Parkland College women's soccer program are proud to announce that three members of the Cobra women's soccer team have been selected to the NJCAA DII Region 24 All-Region Teams. Sophomores Lauren Schnepper and Lisa Kirwan were named to the All-Region team, while sophomore goalkeeper Hannah Null earned All-Region Honorable Mention recognition. The three helped Parkland College to a 5-12 record, including a 3-4 record in Region 24 play.
 
Lauren Schnepper, from Mahomet, Illinois, appeared in 16 games in 2023, starting 14. The sophomore led the team in goals (7), shots (19) and shots on goal (12). The Mahomet-Seymour High School alum also produced four assists and two game-winning goals. Schnepper
Schnepper, a General Studies major at Parkland College, is the daughter of Clark and Stephanie Schnepper.
 
"Lauren is a hardworking and driven striker," co-interim head coach Mary Woods said. "She displayed immense focus all season, and her dedication to her growth and to her team are just a few of the remarkable things about her as an athlete."
 
Lisa Kirwan, from Ayr, Scotland, appeared in 17 games, starting all 17 in the midfield. The Sussex County Community College transfer recorded six goals on 18 shots and four assists with the Cobras in 2023. Kirwan provided the game-winning goal in the 2-1 Parkland win at Kaskaskia College on October 21. Kirwan, a Kinesiology major at Parkland College, is the daughter of Helen Kirwan and Paul Kirwan.
 
"Lisa is a very talented defender and outside midfielder," Woods said. "She worked hard in every training session, and her ability to perform during games was outstanding."
 
"She can change the momentum of any game, and she is a great addition to any team," Woods added.
 
Hannah Null, from Urbana, Illinois, appeared in 8 games at goalkeeper for the Cobras, starting seven and compiling a record of 3-4. The sophomore recorded 25 saves with a save percentage of 69.4%, allowing 11 goals. The Urbana High School alum recorded two shutout halves against Lincoln Land Community College on October 18 and October 24 - and Null tallied a season-high seven saves versus Rock Valley College on September 9. Null, a Liberal Arts and Sciences major at Parkland College, is the daughter of Kim Selting and Brian Null.
 
"Hannah is very deserving of the all-region recognition," Coach Woods said. "She is an incredible leader, and she displayed her commitment to her team every day. She was vocal and uplifting to her teammates, and we were always confident in her skills and ability to protect the net."
