Cobras Lose 5-0 at No. 10 Southwestern Illinois College

Parkland drops its first Region 24 game of the season

Box Score BELLEVILLE, Ill. – The Parkland College women's soccer team dropped its first Region 24 game of the season at No. 10 Southwestern Illinois College on Saturday, August 26th, losing 5-0 on the road. The Cobras (0-2) could not come up with a shot on goal against the Blue Storm (1-0), while Parkland goalkeepers Hannah Null and Leire Rodriguez-Najera combined for 14 saves in the loss.
 
"Unfortunately, today was not our day," Parkland College head coach Dan Vogelsang sighed after the game. "We opened the game very flat and just couldn't find our rhythm."
 
"This team is full of talent, and we just have to figure out how to play as a unit," Vogelsang added. "I was happy with the effort today."
 
Up next, Parkland travels to Cicero, Illinois, to play at Morton College on Friday, September 1st. Kick-off against the Panthers (0-0) will be at 3:00 PM at Antonio Carbajal Field.
