Parkland Women’s Soccer Falls to Waubonsee Community College

Sophomore Lauren Schnepper scores in the loss

Box Score SUGAR GROVE, Ill. – The Parkland College women's soccer team lost an away game at Waubonsee Community College 3-1 on Monday, September 25. The Cobras (2-8) fell behind very early in the game when the Chiefs (4-4) scored less than a minute into the game, and the visitors struggled to find momentum in the first half, trailing 2-0 at halftime. Sophomore Lauren Schnepper sparked the Parkland offense with a goal in the second half - but the team could not overcome the deficit, and WCC handed the Cobras their third straight loss. Goalkeeper Leire Rodriguez-Najera recorded 10 saves in the loss.

"Today was a tough day," head coach Dan Vogelsang said following the loss. "Giving a goal up within the first 40 seconds of the game because we didn't follow the game plan is not the way to start. We were flat and stayed that way the entire game."

"Shout out to Lauren (Schnepper) for continuing to work on finding the back of the net," Vogelsang added after his forward scored her seventh goal of the season.
