MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa—November 14-15, 2025— The No. 19 Parkland College women's basketball team remained undefeated this weekend, going 2–0 at the Emerson Classic with convincing wins over Iowa Lakes Community College and Marshalltown Community College.
Parkland 90, Iowa Lakes 71
Parkland powered past Iowa Lakes behind a 20-point performance from Sofia Perez, who shot 6-of-9 from the field and hit 4 threes. Three other Cobras scored in double figures:
The Cobras shot 66.7% from the field and 63.6% from three, while going 19-of-27 from the free-throw line.
Parkland 94, Marshalltown 38
Parkland dominated from wire-to-wire against Marshalltown Community College with four Cobras finishing in double figures:
Stacie Vonderheide added 9 points and 6 rebounds, while the Cobras shot 57.8% from the field and hit 41.2% from deep. Parkland outrebounded Marshalltown 30–19.
Weekend Highlights
- Parkland averaged 92 points per game in the tournament
- Parkland shot over 60% from the field and over 50% from three for the weekend
The undefeated Cobras (5–0) now turn their attention to a top-tier test: a road matchup against No. 2 Kirkwood Community College on November 19 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
