Cobras Lose on the Road at Southwestern Illinois

BELLEVILLE, Ill. — September 16, 2025 — Parkland College women's soccer came up short on the road Tuesday, falling to Southwestern Illinois College.

The Blue Storm built a 5-0 lead by halftime before adding six goals in the second half. Parkland continued to press forward offensively, tallying four shots on goal. Alyssa Wells led the Cobras' attack with two shots on frame, while Ava Jansen and Kameron Lathrop each registered one shot on goal.

Defensively, Parkland worked to withstand consistent pressure from Southwestern Illinois, with goalkeeper Grace Larson and the back line battling throughout the match.

With the result, Parkland moves to 1-3 on the season and will look to regroup heading into their next matchup on September 18th against No. 4 Heartland Community College at home.
