GODFREY, Ill. — September 20, 2025 — Parkland College men's soccer dropped a tough Region 24 contest on Saturday, falling 6–2 to Lewis & Clark Community College on the road. The host Trailblazers built a commanding 5–0 lead by the 51st minute behind a relentless attack. Parkland fought back with two goals from Christophin Ngassam, the first in the 70th minute assisted by Santiago Samame and Gustavo Poli, and the second just six minutes later with setups from Alexander Williams and Diego Zarco. Despite the late push, the Cobras couldn't overcome Lewis & Clark's early advantage.
Head coach Mark Sikora highlighted the adversity of the past week and praised several players for their efforts:
"Yesterday was the end of a grueling week, 5 matches in 7 days, over 1,500 miles traveled, 4 out of 5 opponents in the national top 20 in D1 and D2 polls. I was really pleased by the spirit and effort of Tresody Ondongo in goal who made some ridiculous saves and from Christophin Ngassam, who pulled a few goals back. Diego Zarco and Juliano Baptiste also brought great effort when others were fading. We'll take some time to recover and hopefully have a strong week."
Parkland finished the match with 12 total shots, seven on frame, showing sparks of offensive efficiency.
With the loss, the Cobras move to 5–5 on the season. They will look to bounce back when they travel to Quincy, Illinois, on September 25th to face John Wood Community College at 2:00PM.
